CCA Technology Requirements
Technology is an imperative piece of CCA’s curriculum, as it offers many opportunities for our students to become more engaged in their studies. To utilize all the many facets of our educational programs, each student in grades K-12 is required to have an electronic device for daily classroom use.
Lower School: Elementary (K-5) Requirements
iPad OS 16 or OS 17 compatible device with at least 64GB of storage capacity *Compatible devices to choose from include:
iPad Air (2020 or newer)
iPad mini (2020 or newer)
iPad (2020 or newer)
iPad Pro 11in (2020 or newer) iPad Pro 12.9in (2018 or newer)
Recommendations:
- Apple has models with 64GB storage capacity for approximately $329.
- A Case to keep your iPad safe: The HDE case and is available on Amazon and Walmart.com for less than $20.This case will not protect the glass from scratches unless you include the screen protector which is purchased separately. The ultimate protection is the OtterBox Defender series or other hard case alternatives that also offers screen protection.Upper school: Middle School (6-8) and High School (9-12) Requirements
- Windows laptop or tablet with Windows 10 or 11
- Apple laptop manufactured in 2019 or newer running MacOS 12 (Monterey) or newer (13 or 14)
- iPad with 64GB storage capacity or more manufactured after 2020 or later and should be running iPad OS 16 or17Microsoft Office365 with web-based apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) capable of running on the above devices is provided by CCA.Recommendations:
- For Middle School students, we strongly recommend the purchase/use of the Apple iPad as this device is what our teachers will use on a daily basis.
- An updated antivirus and spyware software is recommended, especially for PC based computers.
- A built-in camera and microphone are required.
- HDMI video adapters are recommended, but not necessary

Accelerated Reader, developed by Renaissance Learning, is an educational program aimed at tracking and guiding students’ independent reading and comprehension. It evaluates their progress through quizzes and tests based on the books they have completed reading.
